Featured artist: La La Librarian

Alyssa Jewell, MLIS, is a musician, author, and storytime specialist who brings stories to life through music, movement, and dramatic play as La La Librarian. She’s a speaker, storytime coach, and the author of Move, Play, Learn: Interactive Storytimes with Music, Movement, and More (ALA Editions). With a background in Theatre Education and a teaching degree, Alyssa has co-written three musicals for young audiences and collaborated with bestselling authors to adapt their books into songs and stage productions. As a seasoned indie-rock musician, she’s co-written four albums and performed all over the US. These days, she prefers concerts at 10:30 am rather than 10:30 pm. When she’s not performing or leading storytime, Alyssa enjoys family adventures with her kids, husband, and dogs, followed by relaxing with her cats and a good book.
