A Chapter to Remember: Highlights from the 2025 Impact Book Festival

On Saturday, June 14th, the Fultondale Event Center came alive with stories, inspiration, and community as the Impact Book Festival welcomed more than 40 authors and hundreds of book lovers for a day dedicated to celebrating the written word.

From the moment the doors opened at 10 AM, attendees browsed tables filled with books across every genre—fiction, nonfiction, children's literature, and more. Authors connected directly with readers, sharing not only their work but the passion and purpose behind it. Throughout the day, a lineup of dynamic speakers offered insight into the writing and publishing process, the power of storytelling, and the role of literature in shaping communities.

Highlights included:

  • Meet & Greets with Local Authors: Guests had the opportunity to engage with writers from across Alabama and beyond, with many books signed on the spot.

  • Inspiring Speaker Sessions: Our scheduled talks sparked meaningful conversations and inspired aspiring writers to begin—or return to—their own creative journeys.

  • Fun for All Ages: Families enjoyed a welcoming, all-ages atmosphere, complete with a lemonade stand, children's books, and interactive moments that encouraged a love for reading.

  • Community Giveaways: Lucky winners walked away with fantastic door prizes including Birmingham Barons tickets, VIP Birmingham Legion passes, a 3-month carwash membership from Mach 1, and a Let’s Roam Birmingham activity voucher.

  • Local Flavors: The Scalded Dog food truck served up delicious bites throughout the day, adding to the festival’s warm and welcoming vibe.

The Impact Book Festival isn’t just about books—it’s about bringing people together through shared experiences, storytelling, and community pride. Events like these help uplift local authors, encourage literacy, and remind us all of the power of creativity and connection.

We are so grateful to everyone who participated—authors, vendors, speakers, volunteers, and attendees—for making this day such a success. The Impact Book Festival is just one of the ways we’re building a more vibrant, arts-connected North Jefferson County, and we can’t wait to see what next year brings.
