Art for All & Music for All at the Burkett Center
At Impact Arts Council, we believe that art impacts everyone—and nowhere is that belief more visible than at the Burkett Center in Kimberly. Through our Art for All and Music for All programs, we are proud to provide meaningful, accessible arts experiences for students with diverse learning needs, creating space for creativity, expression, and connection every single week.
A Program Built for Access and Inclusion
The Burkett Center programs are designed to meet students where they are. Lessons emphasize process over perfection, offering multiple ways for students to engage, communicate, and succeed. Whether through visual art, music, movement, or sensory exploration, each session is intentionally structured to support confidence, independence, and joy.
These programs are not about creating identical outcomes—they are about shared experiences, personal growth, and the freedom to explore creativity in ways that feel authentic to each student.
Teaching Artists Who Lead with Care and Creativity
Our teaching artists are at the heart of this work. Each brings professional artistic experience alongside a deep understanding of inclusive teaching practices. They adapt lessons in real time, collaborate with classroom staff, and create welcoming environments where students feel safe to take creative risks.
From visual artists guiding hands-on studio projects to music educators leading rhythm, movement, and sound exploration, our teaching artists help transform the Burkett Center into a place where creativity thrives and students’ strengths are celebrated.
Volunteers Who Make It Possible
Volunteers play a vital role in the success of Art for All and Music for All. After completing training and background checks, volunteers assist during class sessions by offering encouragement, helping with materials, and supporting student engagement—always under the guidance of teaching artists and educators.
Many volunteers tell us that their time at the Burkett Center is one of the most meaningful parts of their week. Their presence helps ensure students receive individualized attention and reinforces the sense of community that defines this program.
Powered by Community Support
These programs are made possible through a combination of grants, fundraisers, and community partnerships. Every donation, sponsorship, and volunteer hour directly supports access to the arts for students who benefit greatly from creative engagement.
Looking Ahead
As we continue to grow, our goal remains the same: to ensure that students at the Burkett Center have consistent, high-quality arts experiences that support learning, expression, and well-being. We are grateful to the teaching artists, volunteers, families, and supporters who help make this work possible.
If you’re interested in supporting Art for All and Music for All—whether by volunteering, sponsoring, or spreading the word—we’d love to hear from you.
Because when we create access to the arts, everyone benefits.
